Covenant University, founded and operated by Winners Chapel (Living Faith Church Worldwide), retained its position as the number one university in Nigeria and the top university in West Africa in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings for interdisciplinary science.
The university, established in 2002 in Ota, Ogun State, has consistently outperformed older and better-funded government universities across standard academic metrics.
