Church Archive exists to answer a question that no credible, well-resourced platform has yet answered: what, specifically, has the Christian church contributed to Nigeria’s development? We document the answers with sources.
Church Archive is structured as a permanent institutional reference, operating to the editorial standards of a credible newsroom. Every claim traces back to a verifiable published source. Every church is documented with identical structural treatment, regardless of denomination, size, or popularity. No church has paid for inclusion.
The church has been building Nigeria since 1842. The Methodist church built Nigeria’s first school in Badagry. A Methodist settlement in Uzuakoli developed the drug that eliminated leprosy globally. The RCCG has donated dialysis machines in 13 states and runs 22 daily feeding centres in Lagos. Winners Chapel’s Covenant University ranks first in Nigeria and West Africa. Jerry Eze built 18 houses for widows across six geopolitical zones. The record exists. It simply needed to be organised, sourced, and published properly.
